Children’s Privacy

Extra protections for our youngest learners.

Last updated: January 2024

WonderSpark is directed to children, so we take special care to align with the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Children never create their own accounts — a parent or guardian sets up and controls everything.

1. Parent-Created Accounts Only

Only a parent or guardian can create a WonderSpark account. Child profiles live inside the parent account and can only be created, edited, or deleted by the parent.

2. Verifiable Parental Consent

When you create an account and add payment information for your subscription, you provide verifiable parental consent for us to collect and use your child’s limited profile and learning data as described here. You may withdraw consent at any time by deleting the child profile or closing your account.

3. Minimal Information from Children

We intentionally minimize what we collect about children. We ask only for:

  • •A nickname (a real name is not required).
  • •An age or grade range to set the right learning level.
  • •An avatar and learning preferences chosen during setup.
  • •Learning progress generated as your child plays.

4. How We Use Children’s Information

We use children’s information solely to personalize learning, track progress, and power features like recommendations and achievements. We never use it for advertising and never share it for marketing purposes.

5. Your Rights as a Parent

At any time you can, from your Parent Dashboard:

  • •Review the information tied to your child’s profile.
  • •Export your child’s data as a downloadable file.
  • •Permanently delete a child profile and its learning history.

6. Contact Us

If you have questions about your child’s privacy or want to exercise any of these rights, email [email protected] or visit our Support Center. We respond promptly to all parental requests.
